Opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has renewed calls for accountability over the disappearance of a musician and political activist who has now been missing for nearly three months.
In a statement shared publicly, the National Unity Platform (NUP) president said Christopher Goddy, also known by his stage name ‘King Zale,’ was allegedly abducted from Kamokya and has not been seen since.
Bobi Wine noted that the prolonged silence surrounding the case has intensified concern among supporters and human rights observers.
“A few days from now, it will be three months since Christopher Goddy, a comrade and musician better known as ‘King Zale,’ was abducted from Kamokya,” Bobi Wine said.
According to the opposition leader, the missing musician’s family has been searching for him without success, describing their situation as distressing and uncertain.
“His family is very distressed, having looked for him everywhere without a trace,” he added.
Bobi Wine linked the incident to a broader pattern of alleged enforced disappearances targeting government critics and opposition supporters in Uganda.
“As usual, the regime whose men abducted King Zale remains completely silent about his whereabouts – the same silence it has maintained about all other comrades who have been missing for several years now,” he stated.
The NUP leader reiterated demands for the immediate release of the musician, insisting that any form of detention outside the legal framework violates constitutional rights.
“We continue demanding for his immediate release from illegal detention and an end to this impunity,” Bobi Wine said.
