Opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has shared a deeply personal message celebrating his son Solomon as he turned 21, reflecting on fatherhood, faith, and the values he hopes to pass on.

In a statement released on social media, the National Unity Platform (NUP) president recalled the moment he first held his son two decades ago, describing it as both humbling and transformative.

He noted that at the time, he was still young and uncertain, but determined to ensure his child would have a better life than his own.

Bobi Wine revealed that the name “Solomon” was inspired by the biblical king извест for wisdom, describing it as a prayer he made for his son from birth.

He said the choice reflected his desire for his son to prioritize wisdom over material success, even as he himself had already begun experiencing fame and recognition.

“I had already tasted fame and some level of success, but I understood that neither of them could give a man what only God can give—wisdom,” he said.

The opposition figure used the occasion to highlight virtues he considers essential, including humility, courage, discernment, and integrity.

He urged his son to remain grounded in faith and to uphold justice and compassion, referencing the biblical call to “walk humbly, love mercy, and do justly.”

The message also carried a broader moral appeal, encouraging young people to remain steadfast in their values despite societal pressures.

Bobi Wine emphasized the importance of self-respect, fairness, and standing up for what is right, even in difficult circumstances.

“As you step into the next chapter of your life, I dedicate you once again to God,” he added, expressing hope that his son would navigate life’s uncertainties with strength and wisdom
