National Unity Platform (NUP) president Bobi Wine has celebrated 25 years since he got engaged to his wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi, reflecting on their journey through love, marriage and life’s challenges.
Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, shared a heartfelt message to Barbie as the couple marked the milestone, looking back at the years they have spent together.
The opposition leader said their relationship had endured different seasons, including moments of happiness, tears, challenges and memorable experiences.
“25 years of a beautiful love affair and 15 years of holy matrimony,” Bobi Wine said, describing the journey as one filled with “countless memories, smiles, tears, ups and downs.”
Despite the challenges they have faced over the years, the NUP president said their relationship had remained strong, expressing his continued love and commitment to his wife.
He told Barbie that he loved her even more than he did when they first got engaged 25 years ago.
“I love you more than I did 25 years ago, and if I had to do it again, I would still choose you again and again,” he said.
Bobi Wine concluded the message by wishing his wife a happy anniversary and affectionately referring to her as “Madam First Lady.”
The couple's relationship has attracted public attention in Uganda, particularly because of Bobi Wine's rise from a prominent musician to one of the country's leading opposition politicians.
